How pawn loans workFair pawn loans, honest buying, real layaway, and $40 FFL transfers — run by a pawnbroker with seventeen years behind the counter, not a corporate office.
Loans on what you own, cash for what you're done with, layaway on what you want, and a gun counter that treats you like a neighbor.

How pawn loans work
Selling outright? Bring it in. Gold, jewelry, firearms, tools, electronics, instruments, outdoor gear — a straight cash offer on the spot, and you can walk away if you don't like it.
What we buy
10% down holds it. Pay it off over time with no interest and no fees. Firearms too — the background check happens when you pick it up.
Layaway terms
Gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, and watches — tested in front of you and priced off that day's spot. We show you the math.
Sell or pawn jewelry
New and used handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Bought a gun online? Have it shipped to us — $40 flat, background check included, no surprise add-ons.
Firearms & transfers
Every item we sell was inspected and tested before it hit the shelf. Prices are marked, and yes — you can make an offer.
Hours & directionsAnything of value — you must be 18 or older. We look it over, test it, and make you an offer based on the item, never your credit.
You get cash and a pawn ticket that spells out the loan amount, the charges, and your due date in plain numbers. Nothing hidden.
Pay the loan plus charges within 30 days (plus a 30-day grace period) and it's yours again. Need more time? Pay the charges to renew. Can't come back? You lose the item — nothing more. No collections, no credit hit.
Every licensed pawn shop in Tennessee is allowed the same charges: 2% interest plus a 20% service fee per 30-day period. We don't play games with it, and we write the dollar amounts on your ticket before you sign.

Have the seller ship to us, we call you when it lands, you fill out the Form 4473, pass the Tennessee background check, and take it home. That's the whole process. Ask around — most shops won't even tell you their transfer fee until you call. Ours is printed right here: the same $40 our owner charged for years before a corporate office decided transfers "weren't worth it." We think they are.
How FFL transfers work
Ben spent seventeen years running pawn counters for the big chains. He learned the trade inside and out — and he learned everything a corporate playbook gets wrong: the call-center answers, the fees that appear from nowhere, the services that got cut because a spreadsheet in another state said so.
Big Ben's is what a pawn shop looks like when the person making the decisions is the same person behind the counter. Loan terms you can read. A real layaway. A gun counter that does transfers because that's what a gun counter is for. And a handshake that still means something in Soddy Daisy.
No. The loan is secured by your item — your credit is never checked and a pawn loan never touches your credit report.
Tennessee law allows 2% interest plus a 20% service fee per 30-day period, the same for every licensed shop. On a $100 loan that's $22 for the first 30 days, printed on your ticket.
$40 flat, including the Tennessee background check. Have the seller ship to us and we'll call you when it arrives.
No — we're a pawn shop and gun store. Title loans are a different business under a different license, and we've chosen not to be in it.
We'll post new inventory, deals, and any hours changes on Facebook and in our news & updates. The opening date lands there first.
Our Facebook page is coming soon — recent posts will show here.
